Large Bauble - Elegant Christmas Card Tutorial

Large Bauble - Elegant Christmas Card Tutorial

Hello Crafters,

We have this delightful Christmas card to share with you today that shows how dramatic matting and layering can really transform a design. Our very talented Design Team member, Glynis has created this eye-catching card, made in traditional red, white, and green colours, using a range of items from the brand-new Elegant Christmas collection, combined with some of our popular existing Christmas products with spectacular results.

Read on for a full step-by-step project tutorial, complete with full materials list. To view the product page for each individual product, simply click on the product name and you'll be directed to its dedicated page.

YOU WILL NEED:

    INSTRUCTIONS:

Trim a sheet of red mirror card down to just under 8x8” and attach to the base card. Using the Leafy Lace Frames die set, cut die numbers one, three, and five in Crystal White pearl card. Go around the edges on all die-cut panels with Diamante Sparkle Sparkelicious glitter. Die-cut die numbers two and four from the same set in red mirror card.

2 Starting with the largest frame first, matt and layer red mirror card and patterned paper from the Elegant Christmas Foiled Pad on top, going around the four sides of the patterned paper with Diamante Sparkle Sparkelicious glitter, and secure onto the base card with foam pads. Repeat this process for the next layer, but this time include the large red mirror card die-cut panel. Finally, repeat as before for the last topper.

3 Die-cut the large bauble from the Poinsettia Bauble stamp and die set using Jupiter pearl card. Stamp and heat-emboss the bauble from the set onto Jupiter pearl card using Metallic Gold embossing powder and die-cut with a slightly bigger die from the Basic Circle die set. Secure onto the bauble die-cut piece and glitter around the rim of the smaller piece using Stardust Gold Sparkelicious glitter. Glitter the stamped bauble and decorate with jewels from the Lucious Yellows Self-adhesive Sparkles and Festive Fancies Bling Box for the larger jewel in the middle.

4 Stamp, heat-emboss, and die-cut the bow from the Poinsettia Bauble stamp and die set onto Crystal White pearl card using Metallic Gold embossing powder. Colour with a red marker pen, apply Glossy Accents, and, when dry, attach the bauble and bow to the main card with foam pads.

5 Using the Elegant Poinsettia die set, die-cut in Crystal White pearl card. Use one set for the flower and the other set for the foliage. For the flowers, shade the tips with Festive Berries Oxide ink and add Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter, then attach a jewel from the Festive Fancies Bling Box. For the foliage, add Stardust Green Sparkelicious glitter.

6 Die-cut the holly leaves from the Poinsettia Bauble stamp and die set and add Stardust Green Sparkelicious glitter. Stamp and heat-emboss the small branch from the Christmas Branches stamp and die set using Festive Branches embossing powder and then add Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. To finish, secure all the foliage and Poinsettia onto the main card with Pinflair glue gel.
