Filigree Flower Birthday Card Tutorial

 Hello Crafters,

By following today's card tutorial, you can create this pretty birthday card with filigree flowers, a large sentiment panel, and a gorgeous swirly background. Keeping to a delicate blue colourway and using an array of dies and stamps from Chloe's Creative Cards, this is definitely a design that will take pride in anyone's home.

YOU WILL NEED:


INSTRUCTIONS:

1 Trim a sheet of Aquamarine mirror card to 7¾” square and affix to the card using dries-clear glue. Trim a sheet of Aquamarine pearl card to 7½” square and edge with a chisel-tip glue pen, then cover in Crystal Crush Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the card using foam pads. Trim a sheet of patterned paper to 7¼” square and affix to the card using foam pads. Trim Crystal white pearl card to 6¾” square and edge with Crystal Crush Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the card using foam pads.

2 Create a 6½” square panel from Aquamarine pearl card and stamp out the delicate swirls background twice using a clear embossing inkpad, lining the image up in the centre. Heat-emboss using Metallic Silver Sparkle embossing powder. Edge with Crystal Crush Sparkelicious glitter, then, once dry, affix to the card using foam pads.

3 Die-cut an oval from Crystal White pearl card and edge with Crystal Crush Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the card using foam pads. Die-cut a decorative oval from Aquamarine pearl card and affix to the card using dries-clear glue. Die-cut a smaller oval from Crystal White pearl card. Take the sentiment from the Beautiful Butterflies Frame set and stamp into the centre of the oval using a clear embossing inkpad. Heat-emboss using Metallic Silver Sparkle embossing powder. Edge the oval in Crystal Crush Sparkelicious glitter, then affix to the card using foam pads.

4 Die-cut two large and four medium plain flowers from Crystal White pearl card. Die-cut two large and four medium filagree flowers, cover with a chisel-tip glue pen and then sprinkle Crystal Crush Sparkelicious glitter over. Shape by creating a valley fold down the centre and layer to form dimensional flowers. Affix to the card using glue gel. Die-cut three stamens from Aquamarine mirror card and add to the centres of the flowers, then add a Sparkler to each.

5 Die-cut some leafy foliage from Crystal White pearl card and affix behind the flowers using 3D glue gel. Die-cut some foliage from the Fabulous Floral Frame set using Aquamarine mirror card. Tuck these in behind the flowers using 3D glue gel. Add a few floral sequins to the background using 3D glue gel, then add a self-adhesive sparkle to the centre of each to finish.
