Sparkly Red Poinsettia - Winter Wonderland Card Tutorial – Chloes Creative Cards

Today's blog tutorial by our incredible Rebecca is a sparkly sensation using the Winter Wonderland collection as the main design elements. The poinsettia flowers pop out from the card for a truly dimensional finish, and the added Sparkelicious glitter on the petals and leaves really makes it glisten in the light.

YOU WILL NEED:

Metal die sets – On the Edge Poinsettias and Stamen
Stamp and die set – Wonderland Poinsettia
A7 stamp set – Warmest Thoughts and Best Wishes
Sparkelicious glitter – Champagne Shimmer, Alpine Green and Santa Suit
WOW! embossing powder – Polished Gold Superfine
Sparklers – 10mm
Self-adhesive Sparkles – Sparkling Silvers
Luxury pearl card – Crystal White
Luxury pearl paper – Jupiter
White cardstock
Gold mirror card
Double-sided self-adhesive sheet
Versafine inkpad – Onyx Black
WOW! clear embossing inkpad
Foam pads on a roll

Pinflair 3D glue gel
Art Glitter dries-clear glue with a fine-tip applicator
8x8” white straight-edged card blank

INSTRUCTIONS:

1 Trim a sheet of foiled patterned paper to 7¾” square and affix to the card blank using dries-clear glue. Trim gold mirror card to 7¼” square and affix to the card using foam pad. Create another panel of foiled patterned paper, this time to 7” square, and affix to the card using foam pads.

2 Die-cut the On the Edge Poinsettia into both sides of a 7¾” square panel of Crystal White pearl card. Use the border dies to cut away the edges then use your scissors to snip the panel free. Lift all the leaves.

3 Stick a double-sided adhesive sheet to white cardstock. Peel off the backing and stick on the die-cut poinsettia panel. Trim around using scissors then sprinkle over with Champagne Shimmer Sparkelicious glitter. Affix the panel to the card using foam pads.

4 Trace over the holly leaves with dries-clear glue and cover in Alpine Green Sparkelicious glitter. Apply dries-clear glue to the poinsettia leaves and cover in Champagne Shimmer Sparkelicious glitter.

5 Cover a sheet of Jupiter pearl paper with a self-adhesive sheet and die-cut four medium and four small Wonderland Poinsettias from it. Peel off the backing on each and cover in Red Poinsettia Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the card using dries-clear glue. Die-cut two small stamens from gold mirror card and affix to the centre of the medium poinsettias using 3D glue gel. Add a sparkler to the centre of each poinsettia. Add dots of glue to the background and cover with Champagne Shimmer Sparkelicious glitter. Add a few self-adhesive sparkles to the background, as shown.

6 Stamp out the verse onto Crystal White pearl card using a clear embossing inkpad and then heat-emboss using Polished Gold embossing powder. Trim and matt onto a gold mirror card panel. Affix to the card using foam pads. Add a few self-adhesive sparkles to the snowflakes and stars on the verse to finish.
