With Love - Valentine's Day Card Tutorial By Rebecca Houghton

Hello Crafters,
Love is in the air today with this gorgeous Valentine's Day heart-shaped easel card from the amazing Rebecca! This fabulous card showcases just how versatile nesting cards are as Rebecca has used the one set to create a shaped card, for perfect matting and layers, for an easel card stopper, and as card embellishments.
Read on for a full step-by-step project tutorial.

YOU WILL NEED:

INSTRUCTIONS:

Die-cut the largest heart die into the card blank to create a shaped card. Remember to overhang the top of the die over the card spine slightly to keep it whole. Fold the top piece in half (mountain fold) to create an easel card. Cut the same die from white cardstock and stick to the bottom half of the card base, below the fold line, using Dries-Clear PVA glue.

2 Die-cut heart die number 2 from Jupiter pearl card twice and affix one to the top part of the card and one to the bottom using Dries-Clear PVA glue. Carefully, trace around the edge of the hearts with Dries-Clear PVA glue and cover in Red Velvet Sparkelicious glitter.

3 Take heart die number 3 and cut from two pieces of Crystal White pearl card. Use a chisel-tip glue pen to apply glue to the edges and cover in Crystal Crush Sparkelicious glitter. Affix to the card using Dries-Clear PVA glue.

4 Cut heart die number 4 from two pieces of Jupiter pearl card and edge using Dries-Clear PVA glue and cover in Red Velvet Sparkelicious glitter. Affix one heart to the top of the easel using foam pads and the other to the bottom using Dries-Clear PVA glue.

5 Cut heart die number 6 from two pieces of Crystal White pearl card, then edge with a chisel-tip glue pen and cover in Crystal Crush Sparkelicious glitter. Affix one to the top of the easel using Dries-Clear PVA glue and the other to the bottom using foam pads.

6 Cut heart die number 7 from Jupiter pearl card and die number 8 from Crystal White pearl card. Stamp a sentiment into the centre of the white heart using a Wow! clear embossing inkpad and heat-emboss using Metallic Silver Superfine embossing powder. Affix to the top of the easel using foam pads. Cut heart die number 12 from Jupiter pearl card and affix to the bottom part of the easel on foam pads to create a stopper.

7 Stamp out three large, six medium, and six small clematis flowers onto Jupiter pearl paper and heat-emboss using Powdered Snow embossing powder. Die-cut using the coordinating dies. Apply dots of Dries-Clear PVA glue to the dots on the flowers and cover in Diamante Sparkle Sparkelicious glitter. Create a valley fold down the centre of each petal and layer together three of each flower, offsetting the petals each time, using 3D glue gel.

8 Die-cut five small stamens from the Christmas Magnolia set from Crystal White pearl card. Apply dots of Dries-Clear PVA glue to the edges and cover in Red Poinsettia Sparkelicious glitter. Add a stamen to the centre of each flower then add a red crystal to the middle. Add the flowers onto the card using 3D glue gel.

9 Stamp out six leaves from the foliage set onto heat-resistant acetate and heat-emboss using Opaque Bright White embossing powder, then carefully cut out. Apply glue to the back of the leaves and cover in Crystallina Sparkelicious glitter. Carefully, tuck in behind the flowers using 3D glue gel. Die-cut heart die number 15 three times from Crystal White pearl card and three times from Jupiter pearl card. Add onto the card, three onto the top part and three onto the bottom part, using foam pads to finish.
