12 Projects of Christmas 2024 - Day 9 - Merry Christmas

Welcome to day nine of our highly-popular 12 Projects of Christmas series! On the ninth day of crafty Christmas, Rebecca is bringing us this exquisite night sky background card, complete with delicate poinsettias and a statement sentiment across the centre. Rebecca has chosen the Winter Wonderland collection for the main emphasis on this timeless design Read on for full instructions on how to make this dramatic Christmas card.

What you'll need:

                 

                How to make: 

                1 Trim a sheet of silver mirror card to 7¾” square and affix to the card blank using dries-clear glue. Trim Lapis Lazuli pearl card to 7½” square and affix to the card using foam pads. Trim white cardstock to 7” square, edge with a thin line of dries-clear glue, cover in Sleigh Bells Sparkelicious glitter, then affix to the card using foam pads. Create a square panel of patterned paper and affix to the card using dries-clear glue.

                2 Cut a strip of silver mirror card and affix to the card. Cut a strip from white card and stamp out some of the starry accents at either side of the panel using a clear embossing inkpad. Heat-emboss using Silver Dollar embossing powder. Adhere to the card using foam pads. Add a few dots of dries-clear glue to the starry accents and cover in Sleigh Bells Sparkelicious glitter. Add on a few self-adhesive sparkles.

                3 Stamp out four large and four medium wonderland Poinsettia onto Lapis Lazuli pearl paper and heat-emboss using Opaque Bright White embossing powder. Die-cut using the coordinating dies and shape the leaves by curling them. Layer together and apply dots of dries-clear glue to the centre, then cover in sleigh bells Sparkelicious glitter. Add a sparkler to the centre.

                4 Cut out some of the foiled foliage and apply dries-clear glue to the back. Cover in Sleigh Bells Sparkelicious glitter. Once dry, tuck in behind the foliage using 3D glue gel.

                5 Stamp out the ‘Merry Christmas’ onto Lapis Lazuli pearl card using a clear embossing inkpad. Heat-emboss using Opaque Bright white embossing powder. Die-cut using the coordinating die, then affix to the card using foam pads to finish.
